Personality[]

At the first glance, Asura seems woefully unstable, prone to total mood swings, ranging from the sweet to the sadistic. However, this is just a ploy set on to keep the others off guard. Asura, a brilliant tactician and manipulator, has everything planned out at least 6-8 steps ahead of the crowd, the result of his last scheme being a time spanning slightly over 1000 years, involving over 30 gods, and almost resulting in the brainwashing of his best friends, and the destruction of the world as we know it.

Asura is a perfectionist who believes that this should extend to the universal level. He believes that mortal blood is so inferior that it is unworthy of any form of regard or salvation, and would ultimately like to destroy all existence, but for himself, and a few, carefully selected others.

Friendship isn't likely to dissuade him. He threw his two friends under the bus long before, though an important aspect of his scheme, eventually leading them back to him. This confident manipulation bespeaks a pure sociopath with no regard for those around him. It has often been said that he is Ista's ego in physical form; the hand that moves events to favour the wishes of Ista, though a clearly dark interpretation of these dreams.

Asura is capable of transmuting his body into a fine mist and dissipating away. He's claimed he's able to travel by moonbeam, but he's also a chronic liar so this is debatable.

Fur/Scale/Feather Colour: White

Skin Colour (ie Muzzle/Arms/Beak): Light tan with a bone shade to it

Eye Colour: Warm brown as Ista; Dark red as Asura; and when together, Mahogany

Hair/Quill/Feather Style: Asura-Ista: Long, slightly curved quills, usually covered in metallic ornamentation when Asura

Nose: Blunted and slightly more squared, when visible.

Ears: Hidden under spines, as usual.

Tail: Not as obvious, but Asura-Ista's tail has been broken in at least 3 places before he arrived in the Fourth Circle.

Other Bodily Features: All forms of Asura, even temporary, have sported dark rings or circles under and around their eyes. It provides for a more morbid, sunken eyed look, or could be the result of his inattention to leisure and rest.

Any Piercings/Tattoos/Scars/Birthmarks?: Asura has covered himself with a wide range of black scar lines and stitching. Some of these are cosmetically drawn on, but others are indeed real. ^^

Attire: Ista: A blue-grey shred-stitched kilt, gloves, and boots, with two gold bands around his wrists; Asura: An imposing black cloak, gold jewelry at his neck and wrists, black gloves, skull pauldrons, and thigh-high black heeled boots.

Items/Weapons: Asura alone has been able to summon some sort of golden sword of darkness. It is believed that this was upgraded after he took on Death's powers.

Origin[]

According to Asura, his egg was left abandoned in a prosperous region by the sea. Several villagers brought it in to their town, where he hatched, and quickly brought the entire town to suicide. As soon as he was able to fend for himself, he took a nomadic lifestyle, accidentally responsible for thousands of deaths through his mismanaged power, and eternally shunned by mortals, who could see he was different, even just by visage. It was once suggested that instead of being a child of Celeste and Gaia, he was actually the product of a tryst with a scurnag, resulting in a more monsterous person and destiny. A more accurate account suggests that he was actually the lovechild of an extramarital affair between the banished goddess Fenris and Gaia.

At some point, Asura crossed paths with Baccha, and the elder man appears to have acted somewhat as a mentor to him. The true influence of Baccha has yet to be seen upon him.

Pre-RP[]

After being brought into the Fourth Circle, he gained a close friendship with Enos-Jakosha, as well as a rivalry with Solaris. He was a shy and quiet child, reserved, if opinionated, but people feared him for his appearance and his reputation with his power, and it wasn't until Death took him on as his ward that he gained respect and good standing in society.

Several deep 'betrayals' in his eyes resulted in a highly fragmented consciousness; one that had been developing from an 'invisible friend' he had since his youth; and he sought to fulfill his wishes and dreams through darker and illegal actions, forcing him to become a Fallen. After becoming a betrayer and manipulator himself, he began to twist his few friends to his plans. These plans included a long-term usage of his friends as pawns by manipulating them into certain situations, and then stepping back and letting them have their meltdown at the injustices done to them.

Asura, meanwhile, was the picture of a perfect god, playing the role of his mentor Esytar-Nu until the guise was no longer necessary, and giving the impression of a strong and courageous god that stepped in to lead and fill the roles required while the gods and goddesses were mysteriously disappearing. By the time that any suspicions began to emerge, there were less than 20 gods and goddesses left to the realm. (Chaos and Terran had been taken care of first and turned into less harmful elemental spirits, and the two people that could immediately expose him, Death and Destiny, were his first two victims.) This charade even extended into his personal affairs; he claimed he briefly married the original Aurora and had a passionate tryst with her, though she had only married up to gain social standing and rise in the ranks.

Asura appears to have taken control of this Mobius, to some degree. Despair is the most prevalent affliction in the land, though subtle. The fate of the nations has taken a decidedly darker turn, and it is possible that he was either at the helm of this, or took power from this as a result.

Asura found power in the pure despair of a young heart, and took a ward in Poe, who was a hedgehog, but who had fur as pure and white as his own. After some musing on the matter, he decided to take on 'brides' of others like him, outcasts because of their beautiful fur, who all bore some similarity to him - if they also had 'marks' on them, it was additional merit.

Wechnia was his first prey, a young scientist with severe disabilities and deep despair. It was Asura that was responsible for tempering his despair to the level he needed in order to reach him. After that, he went for Dr. Finitevus, Dr. Phineas, Dr. Zachary, and finally Imperator Pir'Oth Ix as his worthy prey, each of them stressed to their emotional limits and patched together when they had been broken by him.

  • As Ista, his doppelganger often hissed out subtle subliminal messages to "Hate yourself" in a catchy and hypnotic lilt. As Asura, his doppelganger mused mournfully that "Everything I touch is broken.... broken.... everything I touch I break." Pumpkin, however, has seemed to have no problems with voices in his head... yet. (His is probably "I don't need anyone now..." as they now make a perfect triple.)
  • It is believed that taking the soul or the corrupted mask of Asura will eventually turn you just as insane as he was believed to be.
  • After consuming the soul of Esytar-Nu, his patron and the god of Death, he was able to command and summon the Natteravn, the evil souls who usually took the form of shadows or ravens, and who were the minions of Death. He dubbed these 'Wickeds'.
  • Recent information of prolonged interaction with mortals suggests that his presence, unlike other gods, actually taints mortals, down to their DNA.
